IT Project Management
We provide all the services that take your project from conception
to production by following a rigorous Product Development Methodology
which has been fine tuned by the principals over years of managing
projects. The core components of this service are:
- Business Analysis
- Architecture/Platform Design
- Implementation Plan Development
- Project Implementation
- Deployment
Product/Service Development Methodology
SCM Technologies employs a methodology that was formulated by
its principals over years of developing enterprise class applications.
By following this methodology, stakeholders find the process that
clarifies their understanding of the task at hand and enables them
to specify a product that ultimately meets their needs. Our success
stems from our ability to work with all of a client's stakeholders
to conceive and realize products and services that match their vision
and are in line with their long-term strategy.
Initiation Phase
The initiation phase establishes the business rationale for the
project and identifies the requirements and stakeholders. This phase
is critical to establishing a solid foundation for entire process.
- Company Vision Specification
- Product Vision Formulation
- Business Case Formulation
- Stakeholder Identification
Analysis & Planning Phase
Solid requirements provide a foundation for solid design and technology
architecture and make true project costing and scheduling estimation
possible. During this phase a detailed analysis of the current operational
business processes is performed and detailed business and system
requirements are compiled. By working with key users and stakeholders
identified during the Initiation phase, all product requirements
are captured through an iterative process of data collection and
refinement. A set of Use Cases is developed that describes detailed
interactions of users with the system performing all required tasks.
- Documentation of Current System and Work flows
- Functional Requirements Specification
- Technology Requirements Specification
Design Phase
During this phase, detailed specifications of the product are
created and the system and application architectures are formulated.
Strict discipline is followed to ensure that detailed "blue
prints" are created to serve as the foundation for the subsequent
Implementation phase.
- System and Application Architecture Specification
- Entity Model Specification
- Sequence Specification
- User Interface Specification
Implementation Phase
In the implementation phase the system is constructed in a series
of iterations where each Use Case and component is coded, tested
and integrated into the overall system. This phase is performed
iteratively following a time line that accounts for all resources
and costs.
- Component Coding
- Unit Testing
- Integration Testing
- Interim Release Process
- System Integration
Testing, Quality Assurance & Acceptance Phase
A formal Quality Assurance phase is initiated once the specified
functionality has been achieved and development has completed. This
phase culminates in final sign-off by the client and clears the
way for deployment of the product.
- Quality Assurance
- User Acceptance
- Final Sign-Off
Deployment & Stabilization Phase
This phase marks the transition of the product to full production
use in the target environment.
- Packaging
- Deployment
- Stabilization
- User Training & Documentation
Support & Maintenance Phase
Poor maintenance alienates users and is a source of significant
business risk. A strict regimen including bug reporting, periodic
releases, monitoring and change management is developed to ensure
maximum continued return on investment.
- Monitoring
- Periodic Releases
- Change Management
